tales from the city: hellos and free burritos!

Hi there!
For those of you who don't know me, my name's Erin, I'm 19, I'm an actress living in NYC, I love peanut-butter, and I am a day-dreamer with a very weird, and over-active imagination.

This is what I look like in my headshot:
Look how refined and professional I appear!

And this is what I look like when I'm pretending to be a toddler throwing a tantrum
around friends
at a nice bowling outing:

"I– *SNIFF*– haft go–

*SOB*– to the bathrooooooom..."

(To think that I wasn't even drinking that night!)

So... Yeah. Not very much to me!
But blogging is something I have always been interested in doing. I've had my go at starting one before, but, failed miserably to keep it up. Twice.
School and work were all I seemed to be doing, and those didn't seem like very interesting things for people to read about every day. I've kept a journal for as long as I can remember, but most of the things I write are kept private. It wasn't until recently I thought, "I really should start a blog because I have a lot to say that isn't private too!" The really big question was, "What in the world would it be about?" While Pinterest is packed with loads of inspiring things and fun activities, I've come to the realization that I don't have what it takes to be a 1950's housewife. This makes me incredibly sad.

Here's a list of insanely cool things I can't sem to do that everyone is really interested in these days and would guarantee me a more successful blog:
  • Gardening ("Everything I touch DIES!")
  • Cook/Bake for all my friends so they can love me
  • Become a body-builder
  • Put various things in cute mason-jars
  • Paint intricate designs on my nails with a super-steady hand like that of Leonardo DaVinci's
  • Braid hair and wear cool up-does
  • Make nifty photo collages with Polaroids
  • DIY crafts in general
  • Be a cat
It's not that I don't want to do all these things! It's just that whenever I try, there are terrible, terrible outcomes... *shudders*...

HOWEVER, I have found a lot of fun in this big, beautiful city, and I like to have fun! So no matter how random it may be, I've decided to post whatever crazy event that happens here for people to see and enjoy, and maybe motivate others to try on some fun pasttimes of my own I can offer that will go viral and trend for no exact reason! Like planking, or the Harlem Shake, or uploading pictures of your legs at the beach.

And after reading books like "Bossypants", by the genius Tina Fey and "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? And Other Concerns" by the brilliant Mindy Kaling, I got inspired.
So, Wednesday afternoon, after having lunch with an old friend who gave me some great advice to go forth in my pursuit of an acting career, I was off to Prospect Park to shoot for the web-series my friend Ali and I are producing. Our dear friend Daniel is guest-starring in next week's episode as a sex God, love doctor.
I don't want to give too much away, but I mean...
just look at that soul-patch.
Glorious, no?
And look at this little cutie I picked up from the grass!
During the shoot, two young girls came up to us and asked if his hair was real, to which Daniel cleverly replied "Yes" while I was saying "No".
I know... I ruin everything!
Nevertheless, we instantly became friends and they really wanted to be in the video! How could we say no? Well, it was worth it!  Later on the girls came up to us and gave us caramel-waffle cookies and a burrito!
"We brought you a burrito and cookies. You can only get those cookies in Amsterdam."
Sure enough, she was from Amsterdam!
Moral of the story? Let little girls be in your videos... they'll give you food!
