Since I am covering a double on this beautiful summer day at the restaurant where I work, here are some pictures of the lovely evening I had yesterday. Happy Saturday!
shake shack
Friday, June 21, 2013 marked the Summer Solstice: the longest day of the year! And a glorious one at that-- the weather was a perfectly breezy 77º. I met up with Dillon and Hannah, a couple of high school friends I was in CTV with who are doing internships here in the city for the summer.
Look at how cute Hannah is!
Even with my school being right in the Flat Iron District, I'd never been to the original Shake Shack, nor any Shake Shack for that matter in the past two years I've lived here. The original stand is in Madison Square Park, and the line is always long.
Always.
Thank goodness Dillon got in line right away! I got the original Shack Burger with no cheese. It was heavenly, to say the least.
"Well shaaake shack is a little old place where... weeeeeee can eat-some-bur-gerrrrrs!"
A coupla satisfied customers!
I was jonesin' for some kind of treat after having a sip of Dillon's chocolate shake, so as a healthy alternative I went to Terri, one of my favorite vegan places on W23rd street.
Mainly for their Green Power smoothies.
We saw this sweet model Ford on the way. Come to mama...!
Speaking of models...
There was a guy playing some music across from the park and these kids were dancing their little hearts out to it! It looked like fun, so I joined and wondered if maybe they would accept me as one of them, and maybe even show me some moves...?
IT'S WORKING! IT'S WORKING!
Eventually I knew it was time for me to part from my new crew. Dillon, Hannah and I moved onward to the Whole Foods in Union Square where we found some neat Ostrich eggs.
Practicing my mothering skills by keeping it warm.
Since I don't have a Whole Foods that close to where I live in Brooklyn, I used the opportunity to pick up a few goodies for the week.
Notice the half eaten Key-Lime Pie Lara Bar. The train ride home is a long, and tempting one.
Winding down for a big day ahead with Lemon Ginger Green Tea.
"Your intuition is your best friend."
Well... Sometimes, Tea Tag. Sometimes.
